| How to Prevent Colon Cancer

Lifestyle adjustment including eating the right kind of food and having regular
exercise may help. A diet that is low in fat and high in fibre can protect you
from colon cancer. Make sure you eat at least five portions of fresh fruit and
vegetable a day! Taking moderate exercises at regular intervals can also
reduce your chance of getting colon cancer.

Regular colonic check-up (or screening) starting from an appropriate age is
another important measure. This is particularly true if you are at an increased
risk due to family or personal reasons. Studies have shown that screening is
the most effective method to prevent colon cancer.
