Dr. Siu-Tsan Yuen


Dr. Siu-Tsan Yuen

Dr. Yuen is a pathologist at the Department of Pathology, The University of Hong Kong.He has a special interest in molecular genetics of colorectal cancer and is responsible for the setting up of genetic diagnosis for the various hereditary colorectal cancer syndromes including Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colorectal Cancer and Peutz-Jegher’s syndromes.

Dr. Yuen is responsible for the overall administration of the Registry. His laboratory is responsible for providing all the genetic diagnosis. He is also involved in risk assessment, providing genetic counselling and giving advice towards clinical screening and management of recruited family members.

Dr. Judy Ho

Dr. Ho is a colorectal surgeon working at the Department of Surgery, Queen Mary Hospital. Dr. Ho supervises the clinical and psychosocial work of the Registry. She overlooks and gives advice on clinical screening and management for our recruited family members. She is also involved in risk assessment and genetic counselling. Ms. Emily Chan

Ms. Chan is our Registry Coordinator. She plays the important role of organising the daily activities of the Registry and provides education and counselling service to recruited families. Contact her at mschan1@hkucc.hku.hk or by telephone on 2855 4911.


Other members and doctor liaisons

Ms. Bonnie Lam, our clerical assistant, provides clerical support of the Registry and assists Ms. Chan in the daily activity of the Registry.

On the laboratory side, Dr. Suet-Yi Leung of the Department of Pathology, The University of Hong Kong has become the co-chief supervisor of the genetic diagnosis laboratory. Under the supervision of Drs. Leung and Yuen, Wilson Chan and Dr. Chris Chan are responsible for the genetic diagnosis and development of new techniques and new laboratory tests. The laboratory has generated a unique genetic database for the Chinese community world-wide.

Dr. Samuel Ho and Professor Cecilia Chan of the Department of Psychology and the Centre on Behavioural Health, The University of Hong Kong, collaborate with the Registry in carrying out psychosocial research and providing psychosocial support for our recruited families. The unique psychosocial data generated from our research provides an invaluable resource on genetic testing for the Chinese community.

Dr. K.M. Chu is an upper gastrointestinal surgeon working at the Department of Surgery, The University of Hong Kong. He is responsible for upper gastrointestinal screening activities for FAP families. Drs. Polly Lam, C.W. Tse and K.M. Kwok of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Drs. K.C. Lee and C.W. Lau of Princess Margaret Hospital, and other surgeons, gastroenterologists and pathologists working in a number of public hospitals are also collaborating with the Registry in the identification of families suspected to have hereditary colorectal cancer syndromes and in their subsequent management.

何惠珠醫生


何醫生是隸屬瑪麗醫院外科部的結直腸外科醫生,負責臨床普查及診治。


資料庫的附屬成員包括一位腸胃科外科醫生,負責胃及十二指腸的普查。另一位婦科腫瘤專家則協助婦科普查計劃。此外,還有一些公立醫院的外科及病理科醫生跟資料庫合作。
