The Registry accepts referral of families throughout the whole territory of Hong Kong. We accept referrals both from the medical profession and from the families themselves provided one of the following criteria is satisfied :
1. Families affected by histologically proven Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) or other polyposis syndromes. This includes index patients and at-risk first-degree relatives above the age of 12 years.
2. Families affected by Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colorectal Cancer (HNPCC) satisfying the Amsterdam criteria and/or with proven mismatch repair gene mutation. This includes index patients and at-risk first-degree relatives above the age of 25 years.
3. Families satisfying one of the following criteria :
- One first-degree family member has histological proven colorectal cancer diagnosed before the age of 45;
- One first-degree family member with two HNPCC-related cancers, including synchronous and metachronous colorectal cancer or associated extra-colonic cancers (Bethesda criteria II);
- One first-degree family member has histological proven colorectal cancer and another first-degree family member has histological proven colorectal cancer or HNPCC-related extra-colonic cancers (one of the cancers diagnosed before the age of 45) (Bethesda criteria III)
This includes index patients and at-risk first-degree relatives above an age 5 years younger than the youngest age of cancer diagnosis in the family.
N.B. : First-degree relative means parents, siblings and children
轉介及參與準則
資料庫接受符合以下規定的在港家庭的轉介:
1. 受家族性結直腸瘜肉綜合症(FAP)或其他瘜肉綜合症所影響的家庭,包括已在案的病人及超過12歲有病發危險的直屬親人。
2. 符合阿姆斯特丹標準受遺傳性(非瘜肉)結直腸癌綜合症(HNPCC)影響的家庭,或証實帶有錯配修補基因(MMR)突變的人士,包括已在案的病人及超過25歲有病發危險的直屬親人。
3. 符合以下規定的家庭:
* 兩名直屬家庭成員証實患上結直腸癌;
* 一名直屬家庭成員在45歲前証實患上結直腸癌;
* 一名直屬家庭成員証實患上結直腸癌,而另一名直屬家庭成員証實患上與遺傳性(非瘜肉)結直腸癌綜合症(HNPCC)有關的其他腸癌。
當中包括已在案的病人及較家中最年輕癌症病患者少五歲有病發危險的直屬親人。
註:直屬親人即父母、兄弟姊妹及子女。
